Classrooms

Children learn best by playing and becoming social beings. We follow the children's lead when planning our activities.  We have three large classrooms with different developmentally appropriate activities in each one.

The Creative Room has a sand table, arts & crafts, playdough, easels, and equipment which encourages fine motor development (bead stringing, etc.).  There are tables and chairs, and it is here where we share snack and conversation.

The Quiet Room has an aquarium, puzzles, games, books, science activities, trains, Legos and other small manipulatives.

In the Active Room we have large and small blocks, dress-up area, play kitchen, dolls, cars and trucks, doll houses, trains, tools, musical instruments, puppets, and more.  We also have a two climbers (surrounded by cushioned mats for safety).

At least one working parent is stationed in each room at all times, and the teacher and any additional working parents move from room to room as needed.

Teachers

  • Petting Farm to learn about and visit with cows, minature horses, chickens and llamas
  • Dearborn Fire Station, where we learned about fire safety, and how the fire fighters live while on duty
